The American Journal of International
Law (AJIL) invites submissions of manuscripts on international
law subjects that are broadly understood. We will acknowledge receipt
of all manuscripts. A submission not accepted for publication will
be returned if you have included a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
The AJIL does not require exclusive submissions.
Submissions may be made by mail or e-mail.
Submissions made by mail should include a
copy of the document on disk or CD, to facilitate editorial review.

AJIL uses
Word 2007, but can convert manuscripts created in other word processing
programs. Please specify the processing program used.
Format requirements: All manuscripts should
be double-spaced, with double-spaced footnotes. AJIL
generally conforms to the footnote style of The
Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed., 2005).
Maximum length of manuscripts:
The maximum length for lead articles is 100 letter-sized
pages in 12-point Times New Roman type, with double-spaced
text, quotations, and footnotes.
The maximum length for "Current Developments"
and "Notes & Comments" submissions is 30 letter-sized
pages in 12-point Times New Roman type, with double-spaced
text, quotations, and footnotes.
