Thomas Buergenthal is one of the youngest survivors of the Auschwitz and Sachsenhausen concentration camps, and he is considered one of the world’s leading international law and international human rights scholars. Professor Buergenthal has had a long successful career as a human rights advocate and scholar. Professor Buergenthal served as the Dean of American University Washington College of Law from 1980-1985, and he has served in numerous international positions including a ten-year term as Judge at the International Court of Justice from 2000-2010.
