Our guest speaker Dr. Shamshad Pasarlay will present our next Foreign and Comparative Law webinar, ?Afghanistan?s Legal Order in Transition: The Possible Path Forward in an Uncertain Environment.? This webinar will explore the ramifications of the Taliban?s return for the Afghan legal order. We will discuss the Taliban?s constitutional vision and address what type of a constitution the Taliban may draft for a transformed Afghan society. We will also look at the Taliban?s quick restaffing of the judiciary, and their official conduct regarding Afghanistan?s extant laws. Specifically, hints from the Taliban?s first spell in power in 1990s will be thoroughly discussed.
