In this webinar, foreign law specialists Kelly Buchanan and Clare Feikert-Ahalt will discuss the background to and contents of legislation enacted in New Zealand and proposed in the United Kingdom that aims to phase out cigarette smoking by younger generations. In New Zealand?s case, the ?world-first? legislation was subsequently repealed by a new government. In the United Kingdom, a bill that would impose a similar ban on cigarette sales to people born after a certain date was introduced in the Parliament in March 2024.
