Teaching International Trade Law [1]
This event will feature four leading scholars of international trade law discussing different approaches to teaching trade. The panelists will consider how to teach trade in the current legal and political environment, where trade agreements are routinely ignored and the dispute settlement system is in disarray. They will think through which texts to use and how to help students grapple with international legal materials, including treaties and lengthy panel and Appellate Body reports. They will also consider how international trade law relates to other aspects of the curriculum, including international investment law and international business transactions.
Panelists:
- Julian Arato, University of Michigan Law School
- Jennifer Hillman, Georgetown University College of Law
- Petros Mavroidis, Columbia Law School
- Chantal Thomas, Cornell Law School
This event is free and open to all, but advance registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
