On September 16, 2021, Costa Rica signed the Convention of 2 July 2019 on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters [3]. Costa Rica is the fourth signatory to this Convention, which has not yet entered into force. The Convention sets forth commonly accepted conditions for the recognition and enforcement of judgments from contracting states, as well as grounds for refusal. Israel, Ukraine, and Uruguay are the other three signatories.
