ICC Released Draft OTP Policy Paper on Sexual and Gender Based Crimes (February 7, 2014) [1]
On February 7, 2014, the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the International Criminal Court published a DRAFT Policy Paper on Sexual and Gender Based Crimes [3]. According to the press release [4], the final version of the paper will be published in March 2014, and the OTP is accepting comments on the draft until February 23, 2014. The draft paper, “[r]ecognising the challenges and obstacles to effective investigation and prosecution of sexual and gender based crimes,” announces that “the Office of the Prosecutor has elevated this issue to one of its key strategic goals in its strategic plan 2013 - 2015. The Office commits to integrating a gender perspective and analysis in all its work, to being innovative in the investigation and prosecution of these crimes, to adequately train staff, and to give special attention to how staff interacts with victims and witnesses.”
