The 1?-day ITA-IEL-ICC Joint Conference is presented annually in Houston, by the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, the Institute for Energy Law and the ICC International Court of Arbitration, with the support of other leading regional and global arbitration organizations. As we convene in person for the first time since 2020, this conference is an opportunity to reflect on how the concentrated disruptions of recent years have interacted with recent trends in the energy markets and in the practice of energy arbitration. Specifically, we will consider the impact of the pandemic, recent geo-political events, and changing energy policy regimes on well-established principles of law and arbitration practice. We also will consider what lessons (if any) practitioners can glean from these shifts. And we will benefit from the insights of in-house counsel, specialist counsel, and experienced energy arbitrators on whether the trends arising from such disruptions are here to stay?or are just as fleeting as the disruptions from which they were born.
