Program Description: The Greater Washington DC chapter of the Licensing Executives Society and the Intellectual Property Interest Group of ASIL invite you to the 2018 Patent Damages Symposium which features a panel discussion on patent issues with a particular focus on recent Supreme Court and Federal Circuit rulings that impact the method and process of assessing patent infringement damages. Our panel of experts will share their views and experiences the changing nature of patent litigation and the direction infringement damages will take in future cases. Topics include extraterritorial damages, apportioning lost profits, the entire market rule, surveys, citation analysis, regression and relevant case law. A cocktail reception will follow the presentations. Cullen will provide an overview of GIPC and the broader Chamber’s IP principles and policy priorities, and also discuss the many issues of interest to IP stakeholders across industry sectors. His nearly 20 years of service as a senior congressional staffer combined with extensive private sector experience give Cullen a unique perspective on how today’s IP policy debates are playing out and the potential impacts changes to IP policy may have for the creative and innovative industries that depend on a strong IP system to flourish in the global economy in the digital age.
