High Level Side-Event to the United Nations 62nd Commission on the Status of Women "Legal Frameworks for the Empowerment of Rural Women: Case Studies From Across the Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York is hosting a High Level Side Event to the 62nd Commission on the Status of Women entitled "Legal Frameworks for the Empowerment of Rural Women: Case Studies from Across the SDGs". The high level side event will feature keynotes by Director General of of the IDLO Dr. Irene Khan, Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of UNWomen Mme. Phumzille Mlambo-Ngcuka, and Chief Executive of Advocates for International Development Yasmin Batliwala L.P., followed by presentations on individual legal case studies advancing SDG Targets by Landesa Rural Development Institute and Norton Rose Fulbright Canada, LLP, in conjunction with HelpAge International. The event will be on March 15 at 6:30PM - 8:30PM, followed by a general reception and preceded by a VIP Reception.
