International Anti-Corruption Policy and Enforcement under the Biden Administration
Original Description
The OECD Working Group on Bribery recently noted the U.S.’ “[…] prominent role in the fight against transnational corruption.” Globally, the fight against corruption continues in a context marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, economic downturn and, in some countries, significant pressure on the rule of law. In 2021 opportunities for international engagement in anti-corruption efforts will include the first-ever UN General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on corruption and possibly a global Summit for Democracy hosted by the U.S. How will the U.S. navigate and shape the global anti-corruption regime moving forward? As the new administration prepares to take over, participants in this roundtable will discuss priorities and challenges ahead.
