In this event, Professor Jan Paulsson will be "Examining Arbitration". Democracy can be quite unattractive at times. Two famous books by equally renowned scholars are Democracy and Its Critics (by Robert A Dahl) and Democracy and Distrust (by John Hart Ely). Why should arbitration be any more immune to complaints? What does it mean to love arbitration, and why should anyone love it? This lecture invites us to consider some fundamental propositions that can help us answer the two questions.
