ASIL Miami Chapter
The American Society of International Law (ASIL) Miami Chapter has as its objective furthering ASIL’s mission to foster the study of international law and to promote the establishment and maintenance of international relations on the basis of law and justice. It aspires to do so by establishing ASIL’s presence in Miami, and more generally in the South Florida area, so that practitioners, academics, members of the judiciary, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in the study and practice of international law may benefit from ASIL’s unique ability to convene international law practitioners and thought leaders from across the globe. While Miami has a longstanding history of being considered the gateway to Latin America, today it is also the Business Capital for the Americas, and a leading hub for multinationals with a footprint in Latin America and the rest of the world, as well as a leading venue for international arbitration. The significant concentration of law firms engaged in the practice of international law, the many law schools in the South Florida area offering leading programs and research in the field of private and public international law, leaders in the private sector, non-profit, and NGOs engaged in the development, promotion, and implementation of international law along with international arbitral institutes, shall benefit from ASIL’s many offerings and programs. The ASIL Miami Chapter would bolster its membership’s ability to interact with leading international law stakeholders and proponents at a global level and within the particular context of the Miami and South Florida internationally rich legal, business, and academic community.
