From Academics to the Field of International Law

Description:

In this webinar, host Professor Raphael Carvalho de Vasconcelos from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will explore the intersection of teaching and practicing international law, with a focus on both judicial and non-judicial bodies. Professor Vasconcelos will discuss the opportunities and challenges of teaching international courts and tribunals to law students as well as non-law students. He will examine their relevance across various fields of law, including public international law, international economic law, international human rights law, and private international law. Given the keen interest many students show in international courts and tribunals, and the likelihood that many will pursue careers in this area, the webinar will highlight essential pedagogical tools, challenges, and opportunities in teaching such a diverse range of topics.
